FreshRoast SR 540/800 – Roast Chamber Extension Tube

Bean movement goes off the charts with this extension. Be prepared to dial back everything you know about roasting with the SR-800 once you attach this extension. This extension device NARROWS and EXTENDS the heating area, so beans are heated at a much faster and even rate. Heated air flow through the chamber is GREATLY increased. You’ll need to dial back FAN settings accordingly, or have beans end up in the chaff catcher. Adding this extension to the SR-800 is like roasting with an entirely new device. Yes, it’s still a fluid-motion roasting environment, but that motion is GREATLY enhanced, to the point where you’ll need to dial back fan settings in order to maximize batch roast and keep beans out of the chaff collector. I LOVE roasting with this extension tube; I have GREATER control over heat settings, giving me greater control over first and second cracks. While I HIGHLY recommend adding this extension to your SR-800, it’s with the understanding you’ll need to re-learn roast times/temps in order to maximize the effectiveness of this extension. Once that hurdle is crossed, this extension is a game-changer!
